Documentary Programme
The Atelier-Museu Júlio Pomar, in collaboration with Apordoc – Portuguese Documentary Association, presents a programme of films dedicated to art and its creative processes. In the first session, ‘Guernica’ and ‘Les statues meurent aussi’ situate the place and role of art in the fabric of history, with input from João Queiroz. The following week, in ‘Ydessa, Les Ours et etc…’ Agnés Varda reveals the collection by artist Ydessa Hendeles, in a session led by Inês Gil and Sara Orsi. In the third session, we discover the inner workings of the museum with the film ‘La Ville Louvre’, with a discussion led by Anísio Franco. The programme closes with a documentary about life in Portugal following the 1980s revolution in ‘Le Fado’, followed by a discussion with José Emílio Calvário and Pedro Félix. All films are subtitled in Portuguese.
